Paul M. Spillane
Paul Spillane is certified as a Paramedic and has been actively involved in Emergency Medical Services for over twenty years. He has been a Firefighter in the Town of Stoughton for fourteen years and also serves as the Department’s EMS Coordinator.
Over eight years ago, he founded ‘First Response’ Emergency Medical Education. First Response is a fully accredited training agency through the Massachusetts Office of Emergency Medical Services and proudly provides education & training to over twenty municipal fire departments as well as EMT & Paramedic training programs. Paul also specializes is EMS system consultation and development.
Paul has a degree in Fire Science & attended the Northeastern University Paramedic training program graduating on the Dean’s list. His certifications include: Hazardous Materials Operations Level, American Heart Association Instructor, and Massachusetts OEMS Instructor/Coordinator.
John E. Spillane
Fire Safety Division
John retired in 2003 after a twenty seven year career in the fire service which culminated in 2000 with his attaining the position of Fire Chief / Emergency Management Director for the Town of Brookline, Mass. During his career he served in almost every position within the organization including time as a Training Officer and as head of the Fire Prevention division.
As there are a number of college campuses & related educational properties as well as a number of medical and rehabilitative facilities in Brookline, the challenges of the fire safety needs in the higher education and medical environment are well-known to John. He has extensive training in fire prevention matters, fire protection systems, and fire & arson investigation. John has provided training and education both in “hands-on” work environments as well as in-classroom settings.
John is a certified EMT-B and Certified Fire Instructor. Since his retirement, he has remained active in the field by attending continuing education programs and has conducted several hundred classes as an Instructor for the Massachusetts Firefighting Academy. In addition, John has conducted insurance property inspections and taught as an adjunct faculty member in the Fire Science program at Quincy College.
John’s educational background consists of an AS degree in Fire Protection and Safety Technology and a BS in Fire Science from the University of New Haven. In addition, he has an AA degree in Liberal Arts and a Certificate of Professional Achievement for a Program in Fire Protection Systems from Northeastern University. Current memberships include the National Fire Protection Association, Massachusetts Chapter-International Association of Arson Investigators, and the Fire Chiefs Association of Massachusetts.
Tactical Training Division
Leo Felice specializes in Personal Protection, Risk and Threat Assessment for corporations & individuals, as well as High Level Tactical Training for municipal and state law enforcement agencies.
Leo has been actively involved in Martial Arts for well over 20 years, and holds a Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do. In addition, Leo holds an Elite Level 1st Degree in Israeli Hand-to-Hand Combative and is also an instructor in Israeli-based Tactical Handgun & Bladed Weapons Disarming Techniques.
Leo attended and graduated from the prestigious Executive Protection Institute in Berryville, Virginia. He is a certified Protection Specialist under authorization by the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services.
Leo is also trained in Advanced Handgun; also endorsed by the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services. He is trained and qualified in a number of weapons and calibers. Leo is licensed and authorized to carry concealed weapons in Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Florida in the performance of his services.
He also has specialized training in defensive and offensive driving procedures and techniques.
Leo has been directly involved with the security and protection of foreign government leaders, corporate executives, as well as events with former United States Presidents.
He is also a member of a domestic and international organization that provides personal protection and security where needed.
Leo maintains the highest levels of professionalism and quality. His non-assuming personality allows him to blend into any scenario and his years of specialized training allow him the ability to respond to any situation.
Leo served in the United States Navy and was honorably discharged.
His passion for his work is matched by his devotion to his lovely wife and children.
Michael E. Carroll
Physical Training Division
Michael specializes in group physical conditioning programs such as boot camps, group personal training, and specialized sports training. He is a certified personal trainer through A.C.E. and also holds a peer-fitness trainer certification which allows him to specifically train first responders (Firefighters, Police, etc).
Michaels' background is in sports. He competed at both the high school and collegiate levels in wrestling and now, still trains in MMA disciplines allowing him to bring his own personal knowledge of functional training to our clients.
Utilizing his 15 years of experience as a Firefighter, Michael incorporates a lot of functional exercises which parallel the duties performed in stressful work situations.
Michael truly has a passion for proper physical training and believes that not only should our clients know how to handle emergency situations but also that they have the physical strength and endurance to perform during a crisis situation.
Eric J. Gahagan
Hazardous Device Division
Hazardous Devices Division Manager has been a trooper with the Massachusetts State Police for 17 years, and a member of the Bomb Squad for nearly 12 years. A certified FBI Bomb Technician, and Explosive Detection K9 Handler, also holds certifications in Post Blast Investigation, Advanced Post Blast Investigation, Weapons Of Mass Destruction, HAZMAT Technician, Explosive Breaching, and DEA Clan Lab Investigation. Responded to more than 2,500 explosive related calls including explosives recoveries, bombings, improvised explosive devices and K9 Sweeps. A certified FBI instructor, Eric has instructed hundreds of classes on explosives and improvised explosive device recognition, booby traps, and weapons of mass destruction to public safety, school, and business communities in several states. Is currently a member of the ATF training staff at Fort AP Hill Va, instructing on Homemade Explosives and Advanced Explosive Destruction.
